The arts in Vancouver reflect the
cultural diversity of the city so expect to find everything
from festivals celebrating the Jewish and Japanese cultures,
classical ballet and opera, experimental music concerts and
First Nations performances. Look for symphonies atop mountains
and Shakespeare on the beach. In addition, Vancouver has
state-of-the-art facilities alongside performance spaces
created out of converted warehouses, churches and even a
firehall which frequently hosts edgy, new works by
international and touring talent.
